The All New 26 Series Steel Monotube Shock Finish

June 9, 2011

Lakeville, MN [June 9, 2011] – With an already great record on the track, the QA1 26 Series is now electroless nickel plated for even better corrosion resistance, superior hardness, consistency and lubricity.

  • Excellent corrosion resistance – Electroless nickel plating encapsulates the base metal and completely seals out the elements.
  • Superior hardness – The nickel plating approaches the hardness of hard chrome (same as the piston rod).
  • Consistency – The nickel plating can be held to a tolerance of +/- .0001” – or 1/30th the thickness of a human hair.
  • Lubricity – Both the inside and outside of the body are plated, leaving the I.D. of the body as smooth as glass for decreased friction.

The primary benefit of adding the electroless nickel plating to the 26 series is the finish it provides on the inside of the body. It is imperative that the inside wall of a monotube shock is completely smooth and non-porous for the shock to perform consistently. The electroless nickel plating creates a durable, smooth finish that is free of any rough spots, resulting in a shock that will perform exactly how it is designed from start to finish.

The 26 Series shocks utilize deflective disk valving, providing consistency in performance at all shaft velocities. With unlimited valving options (available with linear or digressive valving), the tuneable gas pressure allows for quick adjustments for varying track conditions, while maintaining consistency on both rough and smooth tracks and during long races. Available in 7” and 9” stroke, the 26 Series shocks also include a premium aluminum piston and hard chrome plated piston rod.

QA1’s 26 series steel monotube shocks were designed for superior performance at a budget-conscious price. They are racer revalveable, rebuildable and repairable, and are designed for unparalleled repeatability.

QA1 is very excited about the new finish of the 26 Series and is always looking for the latest in technology to provide racers the best in quality and affordability. All QA1 26 Series shocks are made in the U.S.A., dyno tested and serialized.
