MOD Series Shocks

MOD Series by QA1

How the fastest get faster.

MOD Series shocks deliver the higher force curves demanded by today's top drag and handling/pro-touring cars.

QA1’s new MOD Series is specifically designed to meet the needs of today's top-tier drivers. Modular valve packs allow you to re-valve shocks in minutes without removing them from the car. This saves valuable time on race day and reduces the need for multiple sets of shocks. It also gives shock and chassis builders the ability to send out custom valve packs to help customers make changes without shipping whole shocks.

All MOD Series shocks are proudly manufactured and assembled in QA1’s Lakeville, Minnesota facility.

The peak of drag racing shock performance

MOD shocks help drivers easily adapt to any surface and conditions, whether at a bracket event or racing no-prep. High force curve capabilities ensure important factors like weight transfer and wheel spin can be dialed in to get cars down the track faster than ever.

Dial in your launch

+

The MOD Series offers a wide range of low-speed bleed adjustability to help you fine-tune front end rise at launch. MOD Series shocks also feature externally adjustable low-speed bleeds for both compression and rebound for fine-tuning performance. The bleed adjusters are located next to the corresponding compression and rebound valve packs and utilize a unique needle and jet assembly to produce consistent changes in the bleed pressure. This bleed adjustment can be thought of as fine-tuning, whereas the high-speed knobs are a coarse adjustment

Improve stability and aerodynamics

+

Adjust low-speed compression valving to gain more down-track stability and improve your car's aerodynamics. Turning the bleed adjustment screws fully clockwise will close off the lowspeed bleed ports for stiffer low-speed damping. Turning the bleed adjustment screws counterclockwise will open the bleed adjustment ports and soften the low-speed damping effects of the shocks.

Minimize the negative effects of wheelstands

+

Track conditions change constantly and wheelstands can happen when least expected. Protect your car from damage with the high-speed compression valving that helps control high-impact events. The high-speed control dampens quick velocity changes, while the low-speed-bleed controls how the nose settles out down track.

Adapt to any track conditions in minutes

+

Easily change the entire dynamic of your shock by swapping out modular QuickTune valve packs to keep up with changing conditions or go from a prepped to no-prep event. Because QuickTune™ modular valve packs are not submerged in oil inside the shock, valve packs can be removed from the shock and new valve packs installed without the typical mess and oil loss.

Valve packs included with the shocks have a force range from 100 lbs. to 650 lbs. at 10 inches per second. Additional modular valve packs are available from chassis tuners around the country in various force ranges to match the needs of any high-performance drag car.

Easy adjustment access in any chassis

+

The multi-position eyelet can be unbolted, rated and retightened to ensure you can always access the adjustment knobs located on the shock body. With the option of a piggyback (attached) or remote (connected by an 18” hose) canister, the ability to mount the body up or down and the indexable base, MOD Series shocks allow for maximum mounting flexibility in nearly any chassis configuration.

The new standard in cornering capabilities

MOD shocks help drivers find grip in any setting. They make it easy to adapt to different events like autocross, road courses, speed stop challenges and more by changing out valve packs in minutes. It's also simple to go from race-oriented suspension to comfortable street driving between events.

Dial in your weight transfer

+

Use low-speed valving adjustoments to tune weight transfer from front to rear and side to side, helping you perfect the handling characteristics of your car. MOD Series shocks feature externally adjustable low-speed bleeds for both compression and rebound for fine-tuning performance. The bleed adjusters utilize a unique needle and jet assembly to produce consistent changes in the bleed pressure. This bleed adjustment can be thought of as fine-tuning, whereas the high-speed knobs are a coarse adjustment.

Support impact events

+

Use high-speed valving adjustments to soak up impact events like curb strikes, keeping the driver more composed in the cockpit. The high-speed valving control will dampen quick velocity changes, while the low-speed bleed will control slower velocity changes as the chassis pitches and rolls. Isolating high-speed valving from the low-speed valving gives you control during even the most aggressive driving.

Adjust to any event on the fly

+

Our modular QuickTune valve packs allow you to change your entire valving range in minutes, which is perfect for drivers who race multiple events like autocross, speed stop, road courses and more. Because the QuickTune modular valve packs are not submerged in oil inside the shock, the valve packs can be removed from the shock and new valve packs installed without the typical mess and loss of oil.

Multi-position shock eyelet

+

The eyelet can be unbolted, rotated and re-tightened to provide easier access to shock adjustments. With the option of a piggyback (attached) or remote (connected by an 18” hose) canister, the ability to mount the body up or down and the indexable base, MOD Series shocks allow for maximum mounting flexibility in nearly any chassis configuration.

Fine tune the shock to your application

+

Extended length +1/2" shock body eyelets and +1” or +2” piston rod eyelets help you find the perfect fit for every application.

What sets MOD shocks apart?

double adjustable with low speed bleed

Precision Tunability

The double adjustable design incorporates adjustable low-speed bleed for fully independent control over compression and rebound. These are some of the most capable shocks on the market today with impressive force curve capabilities and tunability.

Modular Valve Packs

Modular Valve Packs

For the first time, you can use QuickTune™ Valve Packs to drastically change valving characteristics without completely disassembling the shock. MOD™ Series shocks can be re-valved in minutes without interrupting the oil path or opening the shock up to debris and air contamination—all while the shock remains on the car.
