QA1 Introduces Higher Horsepower REV™ Series Carbon Fiber Driveshafts

July 9, 2015

QA1 is proud to introduce higher horsepower designs with its REV™ Series Performance Carbon Fiber Driveshafts. Available for vehicles with up to 2000 horsepower with a max torque of 1500 lb*ft, these driveshafts are now offered in a 3.7” diameter with 1350 U-joints and slip yoke options to fit a variety of popular applications.

QA1 launched the REV™ Series earlier this year with lightweight street performance driveshafts offered in a 3.2” diameter with 1310 U-joints and designed for vehicles with up to 750 horsepower with a max torque of 500 lb*ft. With the addition of these higher horsepower driveshafts, the REV™ Series now provides a variety of custom-made driveshafts that are specifically engineered for their desired application.

“These higher horsepower driveshafts fill the demand for customers who want the ultimate in driveshaft technology,” said Dave Goldie, QA1 Street Performance and Racing Product Manager. “If you have a race car, street car or drag car and you want the ultimate connection between your transmission and differential, this is the product for you.”

While other carbon fiber driveshafts are often made by cutting a universal pre-made tube to length, QA1 REV™ Series driveshafts are designed and manufactured in-house at QA1’s Lakeville, MN facility using the latest filament-winding equipment. QA1 REV™ Series driveshafts are lighter, stiffer and stronger than aluminum, steel and other carbon fiber driveshafts, all while providing dramatic safety benefits.

QA1 specially winds these performance driveshafts with 3M™ Matrix Resin that is exclusive to QA1 driveshafts. 3M™ Matrix Resin uses spherical nano scale silica that provides improved abrasion resistance and longevity, higher compressive strength and minimal water absorption for increased torque capacity and longevity. This resin is what gives a QA1 driveshaft its distinctive blue tint. QA1 REV Series Driveshaft

Ensuring a better balance and minimal material waste, QA1 utilizes forged yokes that are precision CNC machined and are specially developed for QA1’s 11-step bonding procedure. The performance driveshafts also feature 1310 or 1350 conversion U-joints that are high strength alloy and provide durability and high torque capacity for maximum strength. Popular conversion U-joint options are also available.

QA1 carbon fiber driveshafts undergo rigorous testing during and after production to ensure consistent quality. Harmonic testing is done to determine the natural frequency of the driveshaft and a modal analysis is performed to ensure the composite driveshaft meets the applications’ requirements for noise, vibration and harshness. They are precision balanced for smooth, vibration-free operation, which extends the U-joint life.

Because every vehicle is different based on driveline, engine and other upgrades, QA1 offers custom application-specific driveshafts by designing and manufacturing the driveshafts in-house in its Lakeville, Minnesota facility. Just complete our custom order form with your specifications.
