On Sunday, July 24, QA1 held the 2nd Annual Jim Jordan Memorial Golf Tournament to honor QA1 Founder and Chairman Jim Jordan. As an annual fundraiser organized as a tribute to Jim and his love of the game, this 4-person scramble-style tournament supported A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation. Between participant registration, event donations, sponsorships and raffle tickets, the event raised $15,598.32 to donate in Jim’s name.

Twenty-five teams participated in this year’s tournament, which was held at Boulder Pointe Golf Club in Elko, Minnesota. Prizes were awarded for the top teams, as well as for hole games like longest putt, closest to the pin, and everyone’s favorite, closest to the cooler. Participants were also able to purchase “mulligan packages” that included a free mulligan as well as drink tickets and a raffle ticket.

Event supporters generously donated items to be included in over 25 raffle prizes this year, with all prizes valued over $100. Favorites included a collection of scotch, wine and moonshine promoted as Jim’s Choice as a tribute to his favorite drinks; a Jordan wine and cheese basket; signed apparel and photos of Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins players; tickets to events like the NHRA Lucas Oil Nationals, Minnesota Twins games, and the Renaissance Festival; and gift cards to several local shops, bars and restaurants.

This year, the event raised money for A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation, which fights lung cancer by funding innovative research and raising awareness through education and patient support. Its mission is to be a leading contributor to the cure of lung cancer by focusing on disease awareness, early detection and lung cancer treatments. For each donated dollar, 87 cents goes directly to lung cancer programming.

“My dad would be proud and humbled by all the love for him and his family and the support of this amazing organization,” said Melissa Scoles, QA1 President and Jim’s daughter.
